We need more help with Doing Democracy Day on Thursday, April 4th in Longmont!
Doing Democracy Day is multi-community, multi-school event. St. Vrain Valley high school students work with local leaders and volunteers like you to address current important issues. Students finish the day by proposing solutions to a panel of local leaders serving as judges.
The six local issues to be explored in 2024 are: Civic Education and Voting, Affordable Housing and Homelessness, Social Media and Mental Health, Gangs and Gang Violence, Climate Change and Education, Vaping and School Safety.
There are two ways to volunteer:
1. Email Kent Willmann (kentwillmann@gmail.com) to sign up for the following sessions:
9:15-11:30 am......... Be a resource to a team of students as they research a topic. **HIGH NEED**
12:15-3:00 pm......... Be a judge as teams present their positions on issues
2. LWVBC members, click here to volunteer to be a host at the LWVBC Information Table: Information Table Host. There are 3 two-hour shifts.
