From: League of Women Voters of Boulder County

The League of Women Voters of Boulder County (LWVBC) is hosting a community event aimed at addressing the issue of increasing incivility in public discourse. In recent years, incivility has become increasingly prevalent in our public conversations, both online and offline. From political debates to social media interactions, the tone of discourse has often devolved into hostility, polarization, and personal attacks. This trend not only undermines the quality of public discourse but also threatens the very foundation of our democratic society.

As an organization dedicated to empowering voters and defending democracy, the LWVBC recognizes the urgent need to address this issue. Our upcoming event, titled "Civility Matters: Promoting Respectful Dialogue in a Divided World” will provide an opportunity for community members to come together and explore constructive ways to engage in dialogue, even in the face of disagreement.
