Thank you to Longmont Public Media for partnering with us on this candidate forum!

Primary Election Day is June 30, 2026.

This year, the Democratic, Republican, Unity, and Libertarian Parties are holding primaries

Be Primary Election Ready!

Ballot Content: Content will vary by party. Contests may include candidates for U.S. Senate, Congress, state, and local races.

  • Registered Democrats will receive only the Democratic Party ballot.
  • Registered Republicans will receive only the Republican Party ballot.
  • Registered Unity Party members will receive only the Unity Party ballot.
  • Registered Libertarian Party members will receive only the Libertarian Party ballot.

Affiliation Deadline: June 8 is the deadline to change your party affiliation if you want to vote in a different party’s primary election. It is also the day ballots are mailed. Because ballots must be printed ahead of time, voters who change their party affiliation after May 26 may first receive a ballot for their previous party before receiving a new mail ballot for their updated affiliation.

If you are unsure of your current party affiliation or want to switch party affiliation, we encourage you to check your voter registration now.

Unaffiliated voters will be mailed both major party ballots (Democratic and Republican) but can only vote and return one ballot. Unaffiliated voters can also choose to vote in the Libertarian or Unity Party primary, but different steps need to be taken (party change required for Libertarian primary).

Visit the Unaffiliated Frequently Asked Questionss page on our website to see your options.

For each primary and general election, the  League of Women Voters provides nonpartisan election information to help you be a more informed voter.  The LWV has two missions:

  • Education—nonpartisan information on candidates and ballot measures
  • Advocacy—our positions on the ballot measuress.
LWVBC sponsors two types of live and recorded sessions:
  • Candidate forums - for races around the county.  As a non-partisan organization, the league does not take positions on candidate races.
  • Ballot measure presentations -  information about local and statewide ballot measures including the league's position on some measures.
In addition to these sessions, LWV provides detailed written information about ballot measures. We support or oppose a proposal only if we have a position on its underlying issues. To reach a position, League members have studied the issue in depth and found areas of member consensus or agreement . LWV members reconsider these positions annually.  If we have no position that applies to a particular proposal, we take a "neutral" stance.
