Subject: Doing Democracy Day - March 11th
From: League of Women Voters of Boulder County

The LWVBC is once again sponsoring Doing Democracy Day -- a multi-community, multi-school event. St. Vrain Valley High School students work with local leaders and volunteers like you to address current important issues. Students finish the day by proposing solutions to a panel of local leaders serving as judges.

Doing Democracy Day will be held on Wednesday, March 11th at the Longmont Museum.

The LWVBC will have a table and it is fully staffed at this time. If you are interested in youth engagement or building civic capacity, feel free to drop in, say hello, and see democracy in action!

The Doing Democracy Day organizers are looking for volunteers to serve as live resources and judges.

The topics for 2026 are:  AI in Schools, Cell Phone Bans, Preventing School Violence, Regulating E-Bikes, Regulating Tobacco Products, and Use of Surveillance Cameras. If you are knowledgeable about one or more of these topics, please consider being a live resource!

There are two ways to volunteer:

1.  Email Kent Willmann (kentwillmann@gmail.com) to sign up for the following sessions:

9:15-11:30 am......... Be a resource to a team of students as they research a topic (this is where the most help is needed)

12:15-3:00 pm......... Be a judge as teams present their positions on issues

2.  Visit the Doing Democracy Day sign-up HERE

THANK YOU for your time!
