Join us for this initial meeting of the Immigration Issue Team led by LWVBC member Lydia Linke.
As part of the conversation, we’ll review several key pieces of legislation currently being considered this session and begin discussing different ways the League can help support social services for women and children whose family breadwinner may be in detention. We may also explore how voter registration efforts and Know Your Rights information could overlap to better serve our community.
This meeting will be held via Zoom on April 8 at 5pm. LWVBC Members should be logged in and need to register to attend. Once you register, you will receive the zoom link in the confirmation email which arrives to your inbox almost immediately after you register! Yes, it's tiny and might be hard to read...but it's there! :)
A reminder email will also be sent on April 7th and it will also include the zoom link - so watch for that. One of the most common issues is that people have a hard time finding the zoom link once the event day/time arrives. Be sure to save that email...make a note of it...do whatever it takes to make that zoom link easily accessible for yourself!
