Declaration of Constitutional Crisis and Call to Action!
On April 17, 2025, the League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS), in a highly unusual statement, declared that our country is in a constitutional crisis.
This crisis warrants strong reaction from you and all Americans!
2 ACTIONS YOU CAN TAKE IMMEDIATELY:
2. July 17th - Join the national “Good Trouble Lives On” protest in Boulder, Erie & Longmont 4 - 6 pm
LWVUS issued a new initiative, Unite & Rise 8.5, to address the threat. LWVUS is partnering with other nonpartisan groups including Common Cause, Black Voters Matter, the National Conference of Jewish Women, and others. Unite & Rise identifies many ways voters can work individually and collectively to drive change necessary to preserve our democracy and build a nationwide coordinated front mobilizing as many voters as possible.
LWV Boulder County endorses this plan; right now, please, review, sign and submit the Letter of Commitment to support the nationwide initiative. Our goal is to document 8.5 million voters seen as needed to redirect our government and defend our democracy. This is the essence of the national Unite & Rise movement.
Signing the Letter of Commitment will NOT generate solicitations for donation
The League remains nonpartisan!
It is important to understand that LWV is a non-partisan organization, never supporting or opposing any individual elected official or political party. We do, however, take stances on issues based on careful study as we have over the past 105 years. Unite & Rise 8.5 does not take a position supporting or opposing any elected official or political party. It is a stand against unconstitutional actions we see as threatening our democratic form of government.
