Dear elected officials (and offices), Boulder County city/town officials, party leaders, chamber/non-profit leaders, and election friends:
If you are receiving this email, we recognize that you are a leader in the Boulder County community and many residents turn to you for valuable information. This email contains election events details and is packed full of election details to help you be a knowledgeable source of election information for both Boulder County and beyond. We also wanted you to have easy access to what we are tracking at the federal level and be informed on the recent sale of our voting systems company, Dominion, to Liberty Vote. Please feel free to share this content as you see fit.
Election Events:
Vote Early Day: Join members of our elections staff to celebrate Vote Early Day on Tuesday, Oct 28. This year, we are hosting four different events! You can drop off your mail ballot, register to vote, get “I voted” stickers, and ask elections staff questions in person. No RSVP needed. See Vote Early Day events and please share the word on social (our social links are at the bottom, look for our posts).
Election Ballot Processing Center Tours: Questions about ballot security and election processes? Come to a tour! Attendees get to see the journey of a ballot, how signatures on mail ballots are verified, all the steps in place to maintain accuracy and security, and how Boulder County Elections keeps everyone’s vote anonymous. Tours are Wednesday, Oct 29 and Monday, Nov 3 at various times. RSVP here.
Election Night and Beyond Webinar: This webinar, scheduled for Thursday, Oct 30 at noon, is geared toward candidates/campaign representatives, press, political parties, and city/special district officials – but is open to anyone. This presentation typically lasts 30-40 minutes. Presentation will cover what categories and types of ballots are left to be counted in the immediate days after Election Day and how the process works. Additionally, the webinar will cover the election night results reporting process, results reporting schedule, watcher information, recount scenarios, and Colorado’s election audit (risk limiting audit). RSVP here.

Election Details:
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov 4, but voting is underway now! GoVoteColorado.gov is where to start for registration questions and to find non-Boulder County locations to vote. Boulder County voters can find everything, including voting locations, at BoulderCountyVotes.gov.
Mail Ballots: Active, registered voters in Colorado are automatically mailed ballots. If you were already registered, ballots in most counties mailed Friday, Oct 10. If you have not received your ballot, first please check to make sure your registration/mailing address is accurate at GoVoteColorado.gov (click on find my registration). If accurate, call our office 303-413-7740 (if Boulder County resident) or your applicable county clerk to request a replacement ballot and we will void the one sent to you. If inaccurate or needs updating, you simply make an update to your registration or mailing address, and our office / your clerks office will automatically void the ballot sent and mail a new one (please do so by Oct 27 – otherwise see below).
Returning your mail ballot: All mail ballots are signature verified across the state. You can return your Colorado mail ballot to any county clerk drop box and we will make sure it is delivered to the correct county. Just remember, if you want to return your ballot by mail, we recommend mailing it back no later Oct 27 for the Nov 4, 2025 Coordinated Election. Otherwise, just use a drop box by Election Day. Ballots are due by 7 p.m. Postmarks do not count.
Voter Registration: Colorado does not have a registration deadline. Eligible voters can register up to and including Election Day. Register online at GoVoteColorado.gov. The last day to register or update your info and be mailed a ballot is Oct 27, but after that you simply go to a vote center to register and vote in person.
In-person voting: Vote Centers open Monday, Oct 27 in every county. Vote Centers are available for in-person voting, voting a Spanish-language ballot (available in Boulder County and most other metro counties), voter registration, ballot replacement, and more. See Boulder locations and hours or find your county clerk. To vote in person, you need to bring a valid ID.
Voting in Spanish / Language Assistance: In Boulder County (plus Weld and most metro counties), voters may request to vote a Spanish-language ballot at any Vote Center. In Boulder County, Spanish language resources are also available on our website. Language assistance in multiple languages is also available at Vote Centers.
BallotTrax: if you do not already get alerts from your county about the status of your mail ballot, including when they have received your ballot and counted it, you can sign up for BallotTrax, a free statewide service.
Other election questions? Don’t hesitate to get in touch. Call us at 303-413-7740 or email at Vote@BoulderCounty.gov. Or email me personally if you wish.
Pro tip: If you encounter voters who are intimidated about the process, remind them that voting is not a test. You don’t have to vote on every contest for your ballot to count.
Thank you for your partnership and for being a leader in the community.
Sincerely,
Molly Fitzpatrick, Boulder County Clerk & Recorder
