Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day and this weekend is Wear Orange Weekend.
Almost 40,000 people in the United States died as a result of gun violence last year.
Last night, the federal court in New Hampshire struck down the state’s anti-voter law enacted in 2024, declaring it unconstitutional. The law, known as HB 1569, created some of the strictest registration requirements in the nation and, among other things, required documentary proof of citizenship for voter registration.

It is precisely because of these convictions that we are deeply troubled by Governor Polis's decision to commute the sentence of Tina Peters.

“The digital ‘I Voted’ sticker is an opportunity for high school students across Colorado to engage with our democracy and show off their artistic skills,” said Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold. “I’m excited to see the designs Colorado high schoolers will come up with to encourage voter participation amongst voters!”
Modeled after the Declaration of Independence, the Declaration of Sentiments made an argument for equality by rewriting the idea that “all men are created equal,” to insisting that all men and women are created equal. The Declaration defined 16 grievances relating to voting, civil independence, leadership, and economic injustice. Women’s inability to vote topped the list of complaints, and became the cornerstone of the women’s rights movement for over seven decades. The Declaration’s wider demands have echoed for more than 175 years.
